At The Cross we take pride in creating all of our own content and photographing products to match the vision of our Creative Director. It is a key element of our business and we are looking to grow this team!

As the photography assistant, you will assist the lead photographer with planning, setting up, and completing photoshoot sessions during in-store and off-site photoshoots. In addition, this entry-level role may involve helping customers, merchandising products, preparing photos for distribution, configuring and operating photography equipment, and offering creative and technical support to the photographer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Creativity: An eye for detail and eagerness to learn. 
• Working Conditions: Able to manage their own transportation with off-site photoshoots. 
• The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in front of the camera as well as behind it for the occasional modelling we need to create our emotive photos and videos. 

EDUCATION

• Completion of some postsecondary photography courses
• Basic knowledge of lighting for photography

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with planning and styling photoshoot scenes. 
• Assist with lighting and equipment. 
• Pick-up props as necessary. 
• Organize products to be photographed. 
• Clean up and tidy work space after photoshoot.
• Re-distribute products and props after photoshoots to the sales floor.
• Hand modeling with products required.
• Help customers on the sales floor as necessary. 
• Participate in continued professional development. 
• Perform other duties as required.
